Northfield Savings Bank opens Staten Island branch

Real Estate Weekly, May 22, 2002

"An important milestone was observed when we opened our 11th branch on Staten Island", said Albert J. Regen, president of Northfield Savings Bank. "A number of dignitaries helped us celebrate the opening in Pleasant Plains, led by James P. Molinaro, Staten Island's borough president, who was kind enough to cut the ribbon."

Other attendees included Republican councilman Andrew Lanza; Henry Salmon, chairman of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce; Sherry Diamond, standing-in for congressman Vito Fossella; and Barry Kaufman, representing assemblyman Robert Straniere.

The new branch is located in at the Amboy Shopping Plaza at 6420 Amboy Road in Pleasant Plains, N.Y.

In the spirit of the activities, Molinaro made the first banking transaction by presenting a check to Addie Nastasi, the branch manager for deposit in his personal account.

David Ceci, the bank's vice president for marketing and public relations, said the branch's hours were designed to accommodate the needs of today's busy work force. The bank will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Two 24-hour ATMs, safe deposit boxes, and a night depository for the convenience of local businesses will also be available.
