30% of building show attendees will be from hospitals, comm facilities
Real Estate Weekly, May 22, 2002
Preliminary forecasts based on the current rate of registration indicate that 30% of the nearly 10,000 attendees expected at this year's BuildingsNY trade show will come from metropolitan area hospitals and commercial facilities, announces Dean Russo, Industry VicePresident for Reed Exhibitions, the show's producer.
BuildingsNY is sponsored by the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York (ABO). The largest, most extensive real estate trade show on the east coast, will hold its 22nd Annual Exhibition and Conference, June 18 and 19 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, 11th Avenue, between 34th and 39th Streets.
Attracting the hospital administrators and facility managers is the opportunity to explore a wide range of contractors, suppliers, and vendors that address the specific needs of hospitals, senior housing facilities, universities, police and fire stations, corporate parks, and other health care institutions. A total of nearly 600 exhibitors, encompassing all aspects of the real estate and facilities industries, have signed up for the trade show, which is sponsored by the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York (ABO), a real estate industry trade association.
Some of the exhibitors that work with and appeal to the hospital and facilities trades include Sumitomo Electric Lightwave Corp., which provides high-speed data communication networks essential to the high stake demands of police and fire-fighting agencies; AirPac, manufacturers of portable air-conditioning systems for supplemental and emergency cooling, crucial to the integrity of hospitals and nursing facilities; Clark & Wilkins Industries, which specializes in interior and exterior renovation and restoration; and Global Encasement, manufacturers of a trademarked abuse and fire-resistant protective coating.
"We are pleased to welcome so many hospital administrators and facilities managers to the BuildingsNY show," states Russo. "This year we made a concerted effort to expand our exhibitor list in order to create a forum where everyone in a real estate or facilities-related field would find something of interest."
The conference portion of the trade show features educational seminars that will benefit this select group of professionals, in addition to the real estate professionals who traditionally comprise the majority of attendees.
Attendance at the sessions is included with admission and seating is on a first come, first served basis. Attendance for the show and seminars is free prior to June 4. To register call 888-334-8702 or register online at www.buildingsny.com.
