Nokia introduces technology for residential RE brokers

Real Estate Weekly, May 21, 2003

With customized real estate-specific applications developed for select mobile handsets, Nokia makes it easy for residential real estate agents to access the information they need to close more deals, save time and simplify their lives and delight their customers.

"Imagine you're driving past a house that has just hit the market, but hasn't, even been listed yet. It's perfect for one of your clients. With the Nokia 3650 camera phone, you can snap a picture and e-mail it to your client while you're still standing on the sidewalk," said Jake Sagehorn, director and general manager, Nokia Business Applications Business Unit. "You can enhance the quality of your client communications with real-time messaging, photos and video clips, without multiple trips back to the office."

In addition to e-mail and mobile Internet access, Nokia Real Estate Solutions feature mobile MLS (multiple listing service) access and a mortgage calculator, allowing agents to access critical information needed to close deals. Nokia's dedicated customer care representatives are a simple call away to assist users in familiarizing themselves with Nokia Real Estate Solution applications and improving their general mobile productivity.

The Nokia Real Estate Solutions package is available with the Nokia 3650 phone, which has a built-in digital camera for capturing still or moving images that can be e-mailed to clients, or the Nokia 9290 Communicator phone, featuring a full QWERTY keyboard and compatibility with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files. Both mobile devices offer speakerphone and voice recorder capabilities, as well as PDA (personal digital assistant) features.

The contact manager, calendar and to-do list applications synchronize with many popular PC programs. Current owners of the Nokia 3650 imaging phone or the Nokia 9290 Communicator will have the option of adding the Nokia Real Estate Solution applications to their phones. For new users, the solution can be purchased as a bundled package with the Real Estate Solution already installed.
