Gillette Global Network completes more than 10 million s/f of wiring
Real Estate Weekly, May 24, 2000
Gillette Global Network, Inc. (GGN), a New York-based building-centric integrated telecommunications provider, announced today that it has completed wiring more than 10 million square feet of commercial real estate in the New York metropolitan area, with broadband, fiber-optic telecommunications infrastructure capable of delivering voice, data, video, and high-speed Internet services.
GGN has an additional 30 million square feet of office space under contract and is in the process of wiring properties in the New York area managed by major real estate firms such as Time Equities Inc., Cohen Brothers, Jack Resnick & Sons, GHG Realty, Olmstead Real Estate, Meyer Realty and Cammeby Real Estate Trust.
Since its inception in 1994, GGN has provided facilities-based integrated voice and data services to small and mid-sized businesses. GGN has become one of the fastest growing firms in the Building Local Exchange Carrier (BLEC) services marketplace by providing its customers with a complete array of telecommunications solutions from voice, to data, to the Internet.
"It's clear that our experience as a full-service telecommunications provider appeals to real estate owners who are concerned about the quality of service that will be delivered to their tenants," says Joseph P. Gillette, president and CEO of Gillette Global Network. "The fact that we have been delivering voice and broadband data solutions to our customers for more than five years gives us a solid competitive edge over the new companies that are jumping into this market segment. Due to our Broadband Building Infrastructure Deployment System, we have the ability to quickly install bandwidth with virtually unlimited capacity, allowing us to cost- effectively meet all the current and foreseeable future demands of a building's commercial tenants."
Recently wired GGN buildings include: 125 Maiden Lane, a 330,000 square-foot building; 622 Third Avenue, an 850,000 square-foot building; 39 Broadway, a 450,000 square-foot building; 80 Broad Street, a 440,000 square-foot building; 21 Penn Plaza, a 375,000 square-foot building; and 750 Lexington Avenue, a 350,000 square-foot building. GGN is currently in the process of offering a complete set of voice and data solutions to the tenants of these buildings.
"Our reasons for choosing GGN lie primarily in its history and experience as a service provider, as well as its highly reliable and redundant telecommunications infrastructure. As a result of our partnership with GGN, we're able to provide our tenants with a single source for all their telecom needs such as voice, data, video and high-speed Internet services," says Rick Recny, asset manager of Time Equities Inc., agent for the owner of 125 Maiden Lane.
