Prior to joining SHCA, Aliotta was an architect with Ellerbe Becket; Skidmore, Owings and Merrill; and The Gruzen Partnership. He graduated from City College of New York with a Bachelor of Architecture and also received a Diploma in Real Estate Investment and Analysis from New York University.

Other recent promotions within Swanke Hayden Connell include the appointment of Howard Leist, AIA, to the position of associate principal; the naming of Philip Fishel, AIA RIBA, as associate principal; and the promotion of Alex Badalamenti, AIA to the position of associate principal.

York Hunter promoted of Steven Colao to vice president of project management. Colao also holds the position of project executive in York Hunter's New York City office.

In his new dual role, Colao will be in charge of York Hunter's project management team in NYC and will oversee regional executives for projects in and around Manhattan. He will also be responsible for direct project supervision, client contact, interfacing with prime contractors, reviewing and negotiating bid packages, and providing support for value engineering.

Colao joined York Hunter in 1986 as a plan coordinator, moved into field operations as a project superintendent, and most recently took on the role of project management. Colao has more than 13 years of experience in the construction industry.

E-J Electric Installation Co. announced that Anthony E. Mann has been appointed as the firm's president, following in the strong tradition of his familial predecessors - his grandfather, Jacques, and his father, J. Robert. E-J Electric Installation Co., one of the country's oldest independently-owned and operated electrical contracting organizations, is currently celebrating its 101st Anniversary, signifying the accomplishments of three generations of the Mann family and a century of successful business strategy. J. Robert Mann, Jr. will now serve as chairman and CEO.

In addition to his new role as president of the parent company, E-J Electric, Anthony E. Mann is founder and president of E-J Communication Systems, an organization dedicated to the systems engineering, connectivity and integration requirements of high-technology facilities and their occupants who require state-of-the-art telecommunications and information systems.

Most recently, Mann has won several large assignments, including the newly completed New York City Police Department Forensic Laboratory and the United States Tennis Center, as well as other signature projects for Bell Atlantic, the New York Public Library, Sprint, Sempra Energy Trading, Monefiore Medical Center and Mt. Sinai Hospital. The firm is also responsible for installation and maintenance of the broadcast and electronic systems for the United Nations.

Mann has been instrumental in securing a market niche that has evolved out of the increased number of enterprises - particularly in the financial services, communications and environmental sectors, which depend on the reliable implementation and integration of advanced telecommunication and information systems.
