Ashforth Co. completes $2m renovation in CT

Real Estate Weekly, June 4, 2003

The Ashforth Company, a Stamford, Connecticut based commercial real estate firm, recently completed a $2 million renovation plan to completely upgrade 707 Summer St., a 73,785-SF office building located in downtown Stamford, Connecticut.

The renovations along with a 17x 15-foot mural by artist Elizabeth Gourlay are being unveiled to a group of about 100 commercial real estate brokers and business community members on May 15 at a special reception -- Taste of 707 Summer Street. Those attending will view the extensive renovations and available space, meet the artist and taste the local flavors of several downtown restaurants including Siena Ristorante, II Falco, Telluride, Bennett's, Playwright, SBC Downtown, and Temple Bar.

'We're holding this event to not only show off the exciting new renovations but to really convey that Summer Street has significantly evolved as the ideal downtown location for office space that is virtually within minutes walking distance of an abundant selection of restaurants, shops and now the new Marriott Courtyard," said Gerard Hallock, senior vice president of Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. -- Corporate Real Estate Brokerage, the exclusive leasing agent for 707 Summer Street.

707's extensive operating, aesthetic and systems improvements include a new front entrance; dramatic upgrades to all common areas including all bathrooms, lobbies, elevators and landscaping; a new first floor concierge/security console; new exterior and interior lighting; and a new cooling tower, roof and building management system to provide for a more comfortable tenant work environment.
