BOMA awards honors at May 8 dinner in Westchester

More than 300 members of Westchester County's commercial, real estate industry were on hand to honor Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. and the City of White Plains at the 12th Annual Hall of Honor Awards Dinner of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Westchester County (BOMA).

Westchester County's premier commercial real estate event, the annual BOMA Westchester Hall of Honor Dinner was held May 8 at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown.

Accepting the awards were Stanley E. Freimuth, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc., and White Plains Mayor Joseph M. Delfino.

The City of White Plains is Westchester's premier business market and is home to the county's largest concentration of retail activity with more than $1.3 billion in annual retail sales. A residential community of nearly 54,000, the population soars to more than 250,000 during the workers shoppers and visitors. "Downtown White Plains has become corporate hub attracting high technology firms, major corporations, and in vestments from local universities. With nearly 1,700 units of new residential housing under construction in the downtown, it will soon become a major residential neighborhood as well. Joseph M. Delfino was elected Mayor of White Plains in 1997. Prior to that, he had served for 10 years on the White Plains Common Council and eight years on Westchester County Board of Legislators representing the Fifth Legislative District.

Delfino, who was elected to a second term in 2002, has instituted a comprehensive revitalization plan for the downtown business district.

In addition to the Hall of Honor Awards, BOMA also presented The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards to the owners of properties in three categories. The 2003 TOBY winners were:

* Category: 100,000-249,999- SF, Building: 711 Westchester Ave., White Plains, Owner: 711 Westchester Avenue LP, Manager: W&M Properties of New York LLC

* Category: 250,000-499,999 SF, Building: Parker Corporate Center, Owner: The Jack Parker Corporation, Manager: Parker Management New York LLC

* Category: Suburban Office Park, Building: The Summit, Owner: Reckson Associates Realty. Corp., Manager: Reckson Associates Realty Corp.
