The award-winning butterfly bridge received two first place prizes: one for Aesthetics and one for Rigidity at the American Society of Civil Engineers' Regional Steel Bridge Competition. Mia wanted to design something that would not only support the applied loads but that would also be aesthetically pleasing and compliment the environment. The Petalutha Bridge is on display in the lobby of Cooper Union's Foundation Building until June 19.
