Newmark goes nationwide with project management

Real Estate Weekly, June 15, 2005

Newmark is growing its project management services on a national basis with the merger of its affiliate, Honour, Inc. The new division will be called Newmark Project Management.

"The decision to solidify Newmark's relationship with Honour was a direct result of the success experienced with targeted corporate clients. Honour's services have become an integral part of our company," said Barry Gosin, CEO of Newmark.

"The expansion will enable us to offer project management services to all industries and all facility types.

The new, fully integrated division is an extension of Newmark's current expansion efforts and allows the firm to continue to provide clients with a complete range of real estate and project management services," Gosin said.

The founder of Honour, Inc., Jeff Estep, will remain at the helm as Managing Principal.

Estep will continue to oversee a dynamic group of project managers, engineers and designers, all of whom share his passion for meeting and exceeding client goals. "Our affiliation with Newmark has far exceeded our clients' expectations, as well as our own.

The complete merger of the company with Newmark is a natural progression and enhances our abilities to serve as a 'single point of accountability' for our clients on a national basis," Estep commented.

Estep founded Honour, Inc. in Atlanta after a 16-year career with UPS, where he served as the company's corporate materials management manager.

He was responsible for new buildings, redesign work, both nationally and internationally, and was instrumental in the planning, logistics and relocation of approximately 2,400 employees and the company's corporate headquarters from Greenwich, Connecticut to Atlanta in 1992.

He also developed UPS' worldwide purchasing standards program, which is still active today, and saved the company more than $25 million in its first two years alone.

Select Newmark Project Management clients include: KeySpan, Doubleclick, Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., LaFarge, Assurant and AirTran.
