Patricia Burnham

Real Estate Weekly, June 7, 2000 by Lois Weiss

Patricia Burnham of PJ Burham told us the Winston estate is actually 15 acres and is located in a one-acre zone. The Colonial style home was built in 1911 and has been owned by the Winstons for 60 years. Jeweler Harry Winston's son, Ronald Winston, now owns it and is asking $27 million.

Burham says the grounds have a Roman pool, gatehouse, heated garage, its own gasoline pump, tennis court, etc. and she has been getting calls from celebrities who want the entire estate, as well as developers that want to divide it up. Some perhaps might create a looped road and a luxury homeowners association to take advantage of the pool and tennis courts.

"It's the last great estate that's 30 minutes from New York," Burham advised. Since its a short hop to the Hutch, that's actually do-able to the left turn at 42nd Street - on a good day, with no traffic, using the Cross County, Saw Mill, Henry Hudson, West Side Highway combo.
