C&K Properties, headed by Meir Cohen and Ben Korman, purchased the 12-story downtown office building at 156 William Street in the heart of Manhattan's City Hall and Insurance District for $18.5 million, the firm's third major acquisition in recent years.
Designed in 1955 by one of New York City's most prominent architects, Emery Roth & Sons, this 218,000-square-foot building is 100 percent occupied. C & K Properties is buying the bui1ding from the Witkoff Group.
Mr. Cohen, co-principal of C&K Properties, stated, "We believe that 156 William Street is a prime location given the close proximity to City Hall and the vast number of large corporations situated in the area."

Brian Ezratty and Scott Ellard of Eastern Consolidated Properties, Inc. are the exclusive brokers for the sale. Howard L. Michaels and Neil B. Kane are the exclusive brokers for the property mortgage loan commitments. James Robert Sellinger, real estate investment banker for Merrill Lynch, arrnaged financing for the purchase of 156 William Street.
Cohen and Korman have been involved in a number of real estate and development transactions, and own Mayor Parking, which operates parking facilities throughout New York City.
