Joe Friedman EVP/General Counsel Vanguard Title

As the "dean of title insurance," Joe Friedman has had a long and distinguished career helping to build some of the largest title insurance companies in the country. In 2007 he brought his nearly 50 years of expertise to a newer, younger company, Vanguard Title Agency, where he is helping to usher in a new generation in real estate. Friedman currently serves as executive vice president and general counsel at Vanguard, where he is securing its place as a leader in the industry. Before joining Vanguard Friedman was vice president and senior underwriting counsel for Ticor Title Insurance Company, one of the largest underwriting agencies in the country. Prior to that, he was at Fidelity National Title Insurance Company of New York and First American Title Insurance Company of New York, which he helped grow into the largest underwriter in New York. Friedman is a graduate of Wesleyan University and New York Law School. He has been admitted to practice before the New York State and Federal Courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. A widely sought-after lecturer on insurance and legal matters, he has taught at the World Trade Institute and New York Law School.
