Yhd.com adds more online mortgage services

Real Estate Weekly, June 28, 2000

Full-service, Internet-backed real estate agency YourHomeDirect (yhd.com) has added yet another offering to provide consumers with Internet convenience and professional assistance. YhdCapital.com, a fully-owned subsidiary of yhd.com, has begun operation and is providing a full array of mortgage services.

Internet technology allows yhd Capital.com to instantaneously prequalify home buyers. By prequalifying a consumer, yhd.com is providing a level of comfort to both parties involved in the home buying process. The home buyer begins their shopping with a mortgage commitment in-hand and the home seller is assured that their home is being shown to a qualified buyer. Yhd Capital.com also coordinates all of the mortgage-related responsibilities once the loan is approved.

"Unlike Internet-only mortgage companies, yhd Capital.com offers consumers the added dimension of personal service," said Glenn Cohen, the company's founder and president. "Yhd Capital.com combines this service with competitive mortgage rates and a full selection of loan programs for all types of home buyers."

Expertise is offered to consumers through yhd.com's staff of Home Consultants. These professionals are both registered loan officers and licensed real estate professionals. The consumer benefits because the same person who helps them find a home to buy is also the person who facilitates the mortgage, providing a seamless level of service, said Scott Einbinder, vice president of mortgage operations.

Establishing yhd Capital.com is the latest chapter in positionin yhd.com as a leading player in New Jersey's real estate industry. In its first three months of operation, yhd.com has listed 666 homes and placed 122 of those homes under contract. The total value of yhd.com's listings to date is $158. million.
