Women Builders Council hears NYC council agency

Council Member Melinda Katz, chair of the New York City Council Land Use Committee addressed the Women Builders Council (WBC) at a recent breakfast meeting hosted by Bovis Lend Lease at their midtown offices and encouraged support of small business enterprise.

"Melinda Katz is setting an agenda at the City Council and recognizes the importance of small businesses--especially women-owned and minority enterprises--within the City's development process," commented Maureen Fritch, WBC President and President of Fritch Construction.

"It's our goal to work with the City Council and other government agencies to better map opportunities for these diversity companies to yield increased participation, added Sandra Wilkin, a WBC Vice President and President of Bradford Construction.

The Women Builders Council, Inc. is a professional organization that seeks to implement solutions to the challenges, obstacles and concerns of emerging women business enterprises in the building industry.

The 100-member organization focuses on identifying and supporting public policies that encourage the growth of small W/MBE firms.
