CoreNetGlobal NYC Chapter presents 'NYC and Sustainability'

If you were to dream green, what changes would you envision for the New York City skyline? CoreNet Global New York City Chapter invites you to join its panel of experts to learn about integrating green design into existing buildings and the regulatory environment that may accelerate it when it presents "The Green Dream: New York City and Sustainability--What Does it Mean For You" at a July 25 luncheon program.
Moderated by Glenn J. Elliott, executive vice president and global property director, Reuters America LLC, speakers include: Andrew Shapiro, founder & CEO, GreenOrder; Patricia Lancaster, Building Commissioner, City of New York; and Dan Tishman, chairman & CEO, Tishman Construction.
The event, at the Time-Life Building, 1271 Avenue of the Americas, 8th floor, begins with networking at 11:30 AM followed by the luncheon and program until 2:00 PM. Cost for end user members is $35; end user nonmembers, $55; service provider members, $75; service providers nonmembers $125; at door: $150.
Glenn Elliott is responsible for Reuters Global Portfolio of leased and owned properties comprising more than 5.6 million square feet of space and 300 offices. In his prior role as senior vice president of Real Estate Services at Reuters American subsidiary, Glenn was responsible for negotiating and implementing the joint venture structure and lease between Reuters and the Rudin Organization to build a $360 million headquarters building in Times Square.
Andrew Shapiro has served as advisor to some of the world's leading global organizations. He has worked with General Electric on its award-winning "ecomagination" initiatives, as well as Allianz, Coca-Cola, Duke University, DuPont, General Motors, Morgan Stanley, Office Depot, Pfizer, Pitney Bowes, Silverstein Properties (WTC redevelopment), Tishman Speyer, Vornado Realty, and Warner Bros. Studios.
As Buildings Commissioner, Patricia Lancaster is responsible for setting local construction standards, enforcing the Building Code and Zoning Resolution for over 950,000 buildings and properties, and regulating New York City's $16 billion per year construction industry.
Under Daniel R. Tishman's leadership, Tishman Construction Corporation (TCC) is in the forefront of the industry, completing $3 billion of construction annually.
He has been a major force in propelling the green building movement to the forefront of the industry. TCC managed the construction of 4 Times Square, the first green skyscraper in New York City, and 7 World Trade Center, the first office tower in New York City to be certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.
