Architects award first scholarships

Real Estate Weekly, July 11, 2001

Matthew B. Jarmel, AIA, MBA, a Principal of Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc., and alumnus of NJIT, recently presented the firm's first scholarship at the School of Architecture. Jarmel Kizel established a $25,000 endowed scholarship fund in 2001 to award $2,500 a year to a student that has completed three years of the five year Bachelor of Architecture program. The award is based on academic excellence, community involvement, student leadership and design innovation.

Jarmel was on hand on April 30, 2001 when NJIT's School of Architecture's Award Ceremony presented Jarmel Kizel's scholarship to Muhammad Hassan.

Muhammad Hassan is in his fourth year of study at the NJIT School of Architecture. He is originally from the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Muhammad has truly excelled during his studies at NJIT including serving as the NJIT Student Senate President; the Design Editor of the school's Technology Observer magazine; and Chair of the Athletic & School Spirit Committee.
