Lansco markets space at 70 Wooster St

Real Estate Weekly, July 11, 2001

The Lansco Corporation has been appointed to market the two-level Soho retail space at 70 Wooster Street, located between Broome and Spring Streets, with 5,700 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and approximately an equal amount of selling space beneath it. The retail space has not been actively marketed for some time now.

"This is a terrific opportunity for a high-end retailer to create a unique identity in SoHo," stated Yair Staav, who, along with his team of Douglas Zinn, Christine Emery and Bill Melville of The Lansco Corporation, is representing the owner. "This offering is particularly attractive because there is 60 feet of frontage on Wooster Street and the landlord will remove part of the second floor to create a double height ceiling at the front section of the store, which will make it a wonderfully dramatic space.

The landlord has approvals in place for renovation of the facade. Any upscale retailer will fit well into this strip of Wooster Street, which is being sought after by brand name retailers looking to join Morgane Le Fey, Kenzo, Shabby Chic, Gant, Chanel, YSL Rive Gauche, Bottega Veneta and Movado. Movdao recently leased the southeast corner of Spring and Wooster Streets, another location represented by the Lansco team.

According to Staav, there are international triple-A tenants ready to go to lease at both 47 Wooster Street and the currently vacant outdoor market space on the corner of Wooster and Spring Streets.
