Army has orders for Syska

Real Estate Weekly, July 20, 2005

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a task order contract to AICI-Syska-Archirodon, LLC for operations and maintenance services at the Fayid Air Base in Fayid, Egypt, as part of a contract the LLC was awarded by the US Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Programs Center for reconstruction work within the U.S. Army Central Command's Area of Responsibility.

The LLC is a partnership consisting of American International Contractors, Inc. (AICI), based in Arlington, VA, Syska Hennessy Group, based in New York, NY, and Archirodon Construction (Overseas) Co. S.A., based in Switzerland.

The contract's value could be up to $1.5 billion over five years, as part of an overall $15 billion program.

The task order for Fayid Air Base will be led by Syska Hennessy Group's Facility Management Division, with assistance from AICI and Archirodon, which are supplying in-country support services.

Under the four-year contract, the joint venture will provide comprehensive O&M services for all facilities and infrastructure of the Peace Vector VI project at the air base.

The facility encompasses 26 buildings and includes water treatment, wastewater treatment, power plant and airfield facilities.

The venture will hire skilled Egyptian nationals and then implement a training program for Egyptian Air Force personnel to gradually assume operations and maintenance activities over the next few years.
