Max's cow seeks moo-niker

Real Estate Weekly, July 12, 2000

Max Capital Management Corporation, the second largest privately owned landlord in New York, is holding a contest to determine what they will call their fiberglass bovine, which will be a part of this summer's CowParade New York 2000.

The artist, Cristina Vergano, will select the winning name. The winner will receive a dinner for two at Bobby Van's Steakhouse and two tickets to see "Annie Get Your Gun."

Max's cow reflects the most fundamental of all building materials: brick. Both cow and rider are painted in a brilliant red brick pattern. Strategic "bricks" have been removed exposing the rider's valentine heart.

Names that have already been suggested are: "Heart of New York;" "Romancing the Mootropolis;" "Urban Cowboy;" and "The Hearty Heifer."

Suggestions for the cow's name can be E-mailed to nameMaxsCow@aol.com. Please include your contact information.

CowParade New York 2000 is an exhibition of more than 500 fiberglass cows painted by artist, designers, and significant "udders." They will be grazing at various locations throughout the summer within the city's parks, along Park Avenue, and other locations. Look for designs by artists Peter Max, Woody Jackson, and Victor Skrebneski. The bovines will be auctioned for charity after they've been turned out to pasture over Labor Day Weekend.
