REBNY seeking Residential Deal of the Year submissions
Real Estate Weekly, August 22, 2007
The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) has begun accepting applications for the Residential Deal of the Year Awards.
Award categories include residential sales and rentals, as well as most promising rookie salesperson. In addition, the Henry Forster Award is given to a broker who has exhibited outstanding achievement in the residential real estate market, displayed outstanding ethical conduct in the profession and contributed to cultural, charitable, and community organizations within and outside the industry.
Submission forms and instructions can be downloaded from the REBNY Web site (www.rebny.com). Forms should be sent to Jeanne Oliver-Taylor at REBNY, 570 Lexington Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10022 and must be received by Friday, September 7, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.
The winners will be announced at the Residential Deal of the Year Awards and Charity Gala on Thursday, October 18. Forms to reserve a seat or table at the Gala also can be found on the REBNY Web site.
"Residential Deal of the Year honors are among the most coveted awards in the industry," said REBNY President Steven Spinola. "With so many accomplished industry professionals, judging these awards becomes more difficult each year, but also more fulfilling."
Last year, Elizabeth Sahlman of Halstead Property LLC and Robbie Brown and Maria Pashby of the Corcoran Group, took home top honors as the first prize winners for sales.
Joseph Barbaccia of Joseph Gregory Inc. was honored with the Henry Forster Award, while his colleague, Jim Mahoney, received first prize in the residential rental category.
REBNY's most promising rookie salesperson of the year award was presented to Mary Latimer-Chung of Prudential Douglas Elliman. Taking second prize in residential sales were co-brokers
Donald Artig of the Corcoran Group and Raye Dube of Brown Harris Stevens Residential Sales LLC. Suzanne Sealy of Prudential Douglas Elliman took third prize. Submission information and full contest rules are available to members by contacting REBNY.
