Jarmel Kizel designs police facility for Rutgers University
Real Estate Weekly, Sept 5, 2001
Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers, Inc., serving as "on-call" architects for Rutgers University, has concluded another facility solution for the university. At the Rutgers Newark campus, Jarmel Kizel recently completed the design for the renovation and expansion of the Rutgers Police Station Headquarters, which hosts the Rutgers Police and Security Department.
The facility, which is currently 3,100 SF will be expanded by an additional 3,414 SF.
When completed this complex will include new administrative offices for the Chief of Police, Director of Campus Security and offices for the Captain and Lieutenant. The building design was particularly complex since it was located underneath a parking garage and also included an upgrade to all mechanical and electrical components. The entire facility is serviced by an emergency generator. On behalf of Rutgers University, Jarmel Kizel has concluded several dozen assignments over the last four years. Ed Rovetto acted as the project architect for the firm.
"Jarmel Kizel is extremely proud of our ongoing relationship with Rutgers University," stated Irwin Kizel. "Whether we are renovating an existing facility or designing a new structure, Jarmel Kizel's role of providing "on-call" architectural and engineering services allows us to provide the university with proactive solutions that meet its requirements in a timely and innovative manner," Kizel concluded.
