TerraServer launches enhanced web site

Real Estate Weekly, Sept 4, 2002

TerraServer, a leading satellite imagery and aerial photography website, launches its new edition website, offering visitors a unique window to the world with the addition of over 50,000 square kilometers of satellite/aerial imagery per week, more worldwide high resolution image browsing and comprehensive measurement and searching tools. In addition, TerraServer.com now offers subscription pricing for greater user value, a new TerraShoppe for posters and accessories, a newly added section, and a hot spots and cool sites panel.

Without a doubt, the most impressive addition to TerraServer.com is the amount of new image content in both color and black and white, from an array of new content providers. With imagery from over 56 countries, the site has imagery content with resolution that ranges from one and two meters down to inches.

According to Bill Brown, new owner of TerraServer.com, "The old site was in need of a major overhaul. Unfortunately it had been static for over a year with no changes, additions or improvements."

"In the real estate appraisal world, we are always looking for new tools to help us do a better job Satellite imagery is one such tool that helps us get a better view of property for our customers," said Charles Lawhon, Real Estate Appraiser.
