Northfield Bank opens new branches

Real Estate Weekly, Sept 4, 2002

Two of Staten Island's most recognizable elected officials-- borough president James P. Molinaro and state senator John Marchi --were on hand recently to celebrate the opening of Northfield Savings Bank's new Bulls Head branch.

"Northfield continues to expand its service area throughout Staten Island," said Albert J. Regen, president of Northfield Savings Bank. "We appreciate the commitment to Staten Island's continuing economic development shown by senator Marchi and borough president Molinaro by joining us here at our new Bulls Head location."

In addition, Lawrence J. De Maria, president and CEO of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, was on hand to help cut the ribbon. Also represented at the ceremony were congressman Vito Fossella, represented by his district director, Sherry Diamond; assemblyman John Lavelle, represented by his chief of staff, Susan Lake; and city councilman Michael McMahon, represented by his chief of staff, Kenneth Mitchell. The branch, at 1497 Richmond Ave., is next to the new Chili's Restaurant in Bulls Head. In the spirit of the activities, borough president Molinaro made the first official banking transaction in Bulls Head by presenting a check to Debra DiSalvatore, Northfleld's new branch manager, for deposit into his personal account.
