Garrick-Aug wins West 57th St

Real Estate Weekly, Sept 20, 2000

The leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino of Garrick-Aug Associates Store Leasing Inc. has been chosen as exclusive agent for approximately 3,900 square feet of retail space at 37 West 57th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

There are three levels: with approximately 2,500 square feet on the ground level, 900 square feet on the mezzanine level, and 500 square feet in the basement. The 25-foot frontage is all glass.

"It is an ideal retail space in a lovely building," said Ms. Consolo, Vice Chairman, "just steps from what has come to be known as the corner of four jewels: Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co.-- the fourth jewel has always been a mystery. Of course, West 57th Street itself can certainly hold its own. It is one of the crossroads of the world."

"Indeed so," agreed Joseph Aquino, Managing Director, "just consider the neighbors: Bergdorf Goodman, Rizzoli, Ascot Chang, Hammer Galleries, Sharper Image, Brookstone, Variazoni, Lladro Art Gallery, The Sports Authority, and Steinway Pianos -- not to mention the restaurants Rue 57, Mangia, and Brassere 8 1/2

37 West 57th Street is also just a block and a half from the eclectic mix of Planet Hollywood, The Russian Tearoom, and Carnegie Hall -- the perfect location for a retailer with sophisticated New York in mind."

Founded a quarter-century ago, Manhattan-based Garrick-Aug Associates is the nation's largest brokerage specializing exclusively in retail leasing today. Operating throughout the U.S. and abroad, the company has been instrumental in brokering many of the most trend-setting retail leases in the metropolitan New York area.

Ms. Consolo started the Garrick-Aug Worldwide division in 1987. Headquartered in Paris, Garrick-Aug Worldwide works with prominent international retailers in identifying and securing the best locations for their U.S. stores and retail operations.
