The Empire State Building's occupancy level has hit 99% with the signings of new leases totaling 37,146 SF. Among the new tenants are Empire Diamond Corp., a wholesale jewelry company (4,533SF), Interglobo Queirolo, a freight forwarding company (4,601 SF), and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner, and Smith, Inc. a Delaware Corp., general office (3,836 SF). The leases have a combined value of approximately nine million dollars.
Empire Diamond Corp. bas been a tenant at the Empire State Building since the building opened in 1931.
Other leases that were recently signed in the building include First National Administrators, American International Inc., and Quantum Transportation & Logistics, LLC.
Also reported were 3 renewal leases, one of which included American Marketing, Inc., a wholesale apparel company (8,492 SF).
The Empire State Building, which will mark its 70th anniversary in 2001, recently completed a $70 million modernization program, which included band width communications, new elevators, renewed central air conditioning, new windows, state-of-the-art fire control and safety systems, and a newly-renovated United States Post Office.
