John Ciardullo Associates, P.C. has appointed Georgia Stokes to the position of director of project administration and development, announced John Ciardullo, the firm's principal.
Stokes will oversee complex construction projects and will play a leading role in seeking new commissions.
Previously, Stokes served as a project manager with J. W. Houck Inc. She also had an extensive career in retail sales as a field executive working for divisions of Gap Inc. and Melville Corp.
Meringoff Properties announced that Richard Francis has been promoted to senior vice president/director of leasing. In his new position, Francis will focus on the marketing and leasing of all commercial space within Meringoff's New York and New Jersey portfolio.
Francis has been with the firm for six years and has more than 18 years of experience in the real estate industry. He has been instrumental in the leasing of more than one million SF of office, industrial, and retail space in New York and New Jersey. Prior to joining Meringoff Properties, Francis was vice president of leasing at Bridgewood Properties.
Francis is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. He resides in Glen Rock, N.J. with his wife and daughters.
Advanced TelCom Group, Inc. announced that Carl J. Thompson has joined its team as general manager for the Westchester county market. He is responsible for sales, customer service, and operations.
Prior to taking over the Westchester county office, Thompson worked for Advanced TelCom Group in Mercer, N.J. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing, sales, and business development for Daleen Technologies, Inc.
Thompson earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He resides in Stamford, Conn.
Michael J. Kostyk has joined The Schultz Organization/TCN Worldwide as property manager. He will be responsible for managing retail centers and facilities.
Kostyk has almost 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining The Schultz Organization/TCN Worldwide, he served as property manager for PM Realty Group, where he was responsible for managing forty retail banking facilities for Chase Manhattan Bank.
Kostyk resides in Jersey City, N.J.
Patricia Barnett has joined Katz & Associates Corp. as director of real estate for the Western region. Barnett will provide representation for Katz & Associates' national clients throughout the Western United States.
Previously, Barnett held the position of West Coast real estate manager with Consolidated Stores. In that position, she managed all real estate and site selection decisions in areas from Denver west and all divisions, including K-B Toys, Big Lots, and Pic 'N Save.
Barnett holds a B.A. from San Jose State University. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and holds a California real estate license.
Kurt Padavano, president of BOMANJ, was elected to BOMA International's executive committee. He will serve a two-year term.
Padavano, senior vice president of Advance Realty Group, has been a member of BOMA since 1989 and is a national faculty member of the Building Owners and Managers Institute.
David T. Kra has joined M. Robert Goldman & Co. of N.J., Inc. as vice president. In his new position, Kra will handle large commercial loans. He will also handle income and expense analysis and valuation modeling, evaluate market conditions, project economics, capital requirements, and lender financial criteria.
Prior to joining M. Robert Goldman & Co., Kra served as vice president of Chase Manhattan Bank, where he supervised the Southeastern region in production of multi-million dollar commercial mortgages.
A resident of Forest Hills, N.Y., Kra holds an M.B.A. from the University of Texas. He is a member of the Appraisal Institute, a chartered financial analyst, a licensed N.Y. real estate broker, and an adjunct assistant professor of real estate at New York University. In addition, he has served as president of the Real Estate Lenders Association.
Fillmore Commercial Real Estate announced that David Shlosh has joined the firm as a commercial mortgage broker.
Most recently, Shlosh was director of community financial services for The United Bank of Kuwait, where he specialized in Islamic finance.
Shlosh holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and has an M.B.A. in real estate finance from Fordham University. He also holds an M.S. in education from Brooklyn College.
Olshan Grundman Frome Rosenzweig & Wolosky LLP announced that Lawrence N. Friedland, Samuel P. Ross, and Warren R. Gleicher will be joining the firm as of October 1, 2001. Friedland will serve as counsel to the firm and Ross and Gleicher will be partners.
Prior to joining Olshan Grundman Frome Rosenzweig & Wolosky LLP, Friedland, Ross, and Gleicher were members of Hoffinger Friedland Dobrish & Stern, P.C. In addition to being one of the leading real estate lawyers in New York, Friedland is a member of the board of directors of Apple Bank for Savings, Prime Hospitality Corp., Lutron Electronics Co., Inc., and a member of the advisory board of Brown, Harris, Stevens, Inc. Both Friedland and Ross have extensive experience in complex real estate transactions. Gleicher is a tax lawyer with extensive experience in the structuring of complex partnerships and limited liability companies, 1031 exchanges, gift and estate tax planning, and foreign investments.
