NAHREP Relocation Course

Oct. 14--Real estate agents will have the chance to learn the basics of relocation transactions at a "Relocation 101-Assisting Consumers in Corporate-Sponsored Moves" course offered by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hilton New York Hotel at 1335 Avenue of the Americas. 5th Annual Hispanic Marketing Convention

October 14 to 17--L. Stephen Smith, president and chief executive officer of PMI Mortgage Insurance Co., will address Hispanic real estate professionals from around the nation at the 5th Annual Hispanic Marketing Convention & Expo. The event is hosted by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and is expected to draw 2,000 practitioners from all segments of the industry to the Hilton New York at 1335 Avenue of the Americas. This event is for Hispanic and non-Hispanic real estate professionals that work closely with the underserved Latino community. It will feature leading experts from the private, corporate and government sectors and an educational curriculum as well as a two-day trade show with more than 100 exhibitors.

BOMA Conference

Oct. 18--Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion, Jr. will examine the redevelopment of the Yankee Stadium neighborhood. The conference will also feature a plenary session with Building Commissioner Patricia Lancaster, FAIA; a workshop on emergency preparedness with the FDNY Deputy Assistant Chief Howard Hill and industry experts; as well as seminars on new legislation and the BOMA BEEP program, the on-line course for reducing energy use/expenses with no cost, or low cost, solutions. NYCREW Meeting

Oct. 19--The New York Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women will continue its Industry Spotlight Series with a panel session entitled "ON THE WATERFRONT" from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Kitano Hotel. The panel will discuss the status and undercurrent of plans for the development of New York City's Waterfront. Carter Craft, of the Municipal Waterfront Alliance, will moderate the discussion, which will feature a panel including Tom Fox, President and CEO of NY Water Taxi, as well as representatives of SCIAME, Schaeffer's Landing and the Governor's Island Preservation and Development Corp.
