Reckson to renovate White Plains office complex

Real Estate Weekly, Oct 8, 1997

Brook Fiber Communications lease for 13,187 square feet will house both its state-of-the-art telecommunications equipment and its administrative offices.

Brooks, a leading provider of competitive local telecommunications services, conducted an extensive search in the area to find the right space that meets its high-tech specifications, according to Joel Cardillo, senior vice president of Leasing & Marketing in Reckson's Westchester Division. Reckson's architecture and construction team responded very quickly to develop a creative solution to attach what previously was two buildings. This allowed Brooks to have technical, administrative and sales personnel in one location.

The installation included a redundant power supply, and equipment node room which houses the fiber optic hub to be utilized for the county-wide telecommunications network.

In addition to completing the technical and office requirements for Brooks, Reckson Associates Realty Corp. has embarked on a major repositioning program for 235-245 Main Street. The plans include a new, patterned stone entrance in the plaza between the two buildings. In addition to a new, high-tech conference room, Reckson will upgrade the lobbies and main corridors of the buildings.

"This complex is strategically located in the center of downtown, within walking distance of the White Plains Transportation Center, restaurants, County offices and the retail district," said Salvatore Campofranco, managing director of Reckson's Westchester Division. "Joel Cardillo and the entire Reckson team worked closely with Brooks to satisfy this unique tenant requirement."

Reckson Associates Realty is a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust specializing in the acquisition, leasing, financing, management, and development of office and industrial properties. Reckson's core growth strategy is focused within the 50 mile radius surrounding New York City.
