Newmark named exclusive agent for 660 Madison

Real Estate Weekly, Oct 27, 1993

Newmark Real Estate Services has been appointed Exclusive Leasing and Managing Agent for 660 Madison Avenue, Manhattan's newest, most exclusive office tower, announced Barry Gosin, Newmark's President.

The 23-story building is the only office tower to premiere in Manhattan this year, and promises to be the city's most prestigious, exquisite and modern property.

"We are delighted to represent the owners of 660 Madison Avenue in this exciting venture," Mr. Gosin said. "This is a true stand-out in the Manhattan marketplace and will soon take its place as one the city's most sought-after business addresses."

The superb building, featuring a French limestone facade and a rich, custom marble and limestone lobby, offers 190,000 square feet on 11 upper tower floors, ranging in size from 24,932 square feet at the mid-rise to 11,345 square feet at the top. The base floors of 660 Madison Avenue house Barneys New York.

Located at 61st Street and Madison Avenue, each floor commands expansive views of Central Park and the Upper East and Upper West Side skylines. "This tower is a fitting neighbor to such landmarks as the Plaza Hotel, the Pierre Hotel, the Harmonie Club, and the Metropolitan Club," Mr. Gosin said. "The offices at 660 Madison Avenue will certainly attract a number of Manhattan's most important businesses, especially those who require the prestige, security and rich environment that 660 Madison Avenue affords."

The highest standards of service and features will be provided at 660 Madison Avenue, including state-of-the-art HVAC, electrical and fire/life-safety systems and fiber-optic communications capability.

Security at 660 Madison Avenue begins at the ground floor, where a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week concierge mans the lobby control console and greets all visitors. Closed circuit security TV monitoring of all eight highspeed elevators is another means of protecting the tower's tenants. All deliveries are received at the special ground-floor messenger center, then whisked to the recipient by the building staff, ensuring the privacy of all 660 Madison Avenue's tenants.

The office tower, designed by Peter Marino, Architect, in conjunction with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, has been constructed with the finest materials and highest degree of quality workmanship.

Arnold Gamberg, James D. Kuhn and Jesse Rubens, all of Newmark, will work with Mr. Gosin on the exclusive leasing assignment for 660 Madison Avenue, which will be available for occupancy in January, 1994.
