CREW to honor Goldstein as '95 Woman-of-the-Year

Among her many achievements is the fact that Goldstein is the first woman to run Citicorp Real Estate.
The presentation will take place at CREW-NY's annual dinner, which is open to non-members, on Wednesday, November 8th. The keynote speaker will be Elinor Guggenheimer, president of New York Women's Agenda, a coalition of 75 women's organizations, 41 associate organizations and 800 individual members.
Goldstein is the second women to receive the CREW-NY award; Deborah Beck, Executive Vice President of the Real Estate Board of New York, was the 1994 recipient, the year in which CREW-NY established the award to recognize one woman a year who, through outstanding work and leadership, has made a difference in the real estate industry.
A 30-year real estate veteran, Goldstein's accomplishments in the field are impressive. She is currently responsible for Citibank's $8 billion North American real estate loan and OREO portfolio and oversees a staff of more than 300 people. To date, she has spent 22 years at the bank - 17 years from 1965 - 1983, and another five years from 1990 to the present.
From 1988-1990, Goldstein was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at M.J. Raynes, where she managed 400 people and handled financing and new project development. Before joining M.J. Raynes, she was Senior Vice President and Treasurer for Olympia & York Companies (USA) from 1983-1988, where she was directly involved in billions of dollars of real estate financing, acquisitions and sales.
A graduate of New York University, Goldstein also attend Bernard Baruch Graduate School of Business. She served for four years as a Director of CapMAC and was active on the Dartmouth Institute Board of Overseers for six years.
An active supporter of women in real estate and business, Goldstein belongs to, in addition CREW-NY, the Association of Real Estate Women and the Financial Women's Association of New York. She is also a member of the Real Estate Board of New York's Board of Governors, the Real Estate Advisory Committee of the New York Retirement Fund, the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.
Goldstein was selected as a YWCA "Woman Achiever of the Year" in 1994 and named "Treasurer of the Year for Swaps" by Euromoney in 1986.
Elinor Guggenheimer has a distinguished record of achievement in public service, for which she has received numerous awards and honors. An effective advocate for women's and children's rights, she is a professor, author, television and radio producer, and a frequent on-air moderator and guest. She holds a B.A. degree from Barnard College.
