City Bar creates land use committee

The Association of the Bar of the City of New York has announced the creation of a new Special Committee on Land Use Planning and Zoning.

Some of the issues that the Committee will consider include the implementation of the provisions on land use approvals in the new New York City Charter; the revision and administration of the New York City Zoning Resolution; the landmarks preservation process; waterfront development; and other pressing issues relating to the determination of how land is used in the five boroughs of New York City.

The president of the association, Conrad Harper, has appointed as the first chair of the committee Michael B. Gerrard. Gerrard previously served the Association in many capacities, including that of chair of the Committee on Transportation.

Lawyers interested in serving on the Committee should write to Gerrard at Berle, Kass & Case, 45 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, New York 10111.
