Real Estate Weekly, Dec 16, 1992
Work will begin in December on the conversion of the landmark IMD loft building at 35 West 19th Street to five luxury rental residences. The property is owned and being developed by MKF Realty Company.
The gut renovation of the six-story structure is scheduled for completion in June, 1993. It will create five 1,900-square-foot two-bedroom apartments, including a penthouse. Each apartment will occupy a full floor.
Dominick Maiellaro, a vice president at Platt White architects and construction managers for the project, said that the black cast-iron facade of the building, which was erected in the late 1890's, will be restored to its original condition. The restoration will conform to the requirements of the New York City Landmark Commission.
