Globe Mortgage Company of Hackensack, New Jersey, Michael S. Sherman (photo), have formed a new company to provide mortgage financing and sales services for multi-million dollar real estate packages nationwide.
The joint announcement was made this week by Sherman and Murray Beer, founder and CEO of Globe Mortgage Co., the largest independent mortgage banker in New Jersey and one of America's top mortgage bankers.
According to Beer and Sherman, the new firm, an affiliate of Globe Mortgage Co., will be named Globe National Funding Corp. and will be headed by Sherman, who will serve as president and CEO. Sherman is a former principal and managing director of Sonnenblick--Goldman, and past senior vice president at Cushman and Wakefield, Inc.
During his career, Sherman participated in a wide variety of multi-million dollar transactions nationwide, including the $134 million joint venture of the J.T.L. Tycon Towers office complex, Tyson's Corner, Virginia; the $120 million sale of the Regency Square Shopping Mall, Richmond, Virginia; the financing of a portfolio of shopping centers in Virginia and Maryland for $108 million; the financing of a $100 million portfolio of shopping centers in the Southeast; the $72 million sale of a package of retail and office buildings in Louisville, Kentucky; the $20 million sale of an industrial building portfolio, in Solon, Ohio; the $27 million sale of the GTE Building in Westboro, Massachusetts; $46 million sale of Cigna Tower in Las Colinas, Texas and the $15 million sale of the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
