Westchester firms launch $1M mall revitalization

Two Westchester County firms are taking a positive step forward for commercial real estate in 1993 with the launch of a $1 million dollar revitalization program at the New Harbour Mall in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Yale Realty Services Corp based in Chappaqua, recently purchased and manages the 300,000-square-foot enclosed mall.

Leitenberger/Bronfman Architects, al so of Chappaqua, serve as the project's architects and interior designers.

The exterior renovations will feature a new canopy and a 30-foot-long barrel skylight over the main entrance. Parking areas, covering eight acres of property, have been completely reconstructed. Interior renovations will include a complete redesign of the ceiling and common areas as well as new flooring and lighting. HVAC system renovation has also been completed.

New Hatbout Mall was constructed in 1970 and is anchored by Bradlees, K-Mart and Loews Cinema. Yale Realty has recently attracted All for a Dollar, Record World and Payless Shoesource to the mall, and arranged for the expansion of Fashion Bug to 8,800 square feet. The mall is now 95-percent leased.
