Lehrer McGovern manages at Patterson College in NJ - Lehrer McGovern Bovis Inc. retained for project management services at William Paterson College in Wayne, New Jersey

Lehrer McGovern Bovis, Inc. (LMB) is providing project management services for the construction of a dormitory facility and a communications center a William Paterson College in Wayne, New Jersey.

The three-story dormitory will contain 250 beds for new students. The interior features a hexagonal student lounge capped with a metal cupola and adjoined by a greenhouse. The exterior will be clad in brick with a metal seam roof.

The two-story expansion and renovation of a communications center, named Hobart Hall, comprises a state-of-the-art television studio and related audiovisual laboratories. The exterior will be composed of block and curtain wall. The cost of both facilities is $9.3 million.

LMB is managing all construction work. A major challenge was the placement of the dormitory building on a tight, hilly site adjacent to an existing dormitory. It is being built into the side of the hill.

The architect for the dormitory project is Gruzen, Samton & Steinglass. The mechanical engineer is Turek Associates. The architect for Hobart Hall is The Grad Partnership. The mechanical engineer is Getter Segner & Gironda.

Completion of both buildings is scheduled for November 1992.
