R.M. Monti - Who's News - Brief Article

R.M. Monti (photo), was named a senior vice president with Parsons Brinckerhoff, an international engineering and planning group of companies based here.

In his new position, Monti will focus primarily on facilities-related life cycle projects, through Parsons Brinckerhoff Facilities Services, Inc., which provides comprehensive facilities management services, including facility planning, design, condition assessment, ADA accessibility surveys, program development and maintenance management.

Monti comes to Parsons Brinckerhoff after serving with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for almost 40 years. Since 1972, he held the position of director of engineering and chief engineer, managing a staff of more than 1,100 professional engineers, architects, technicians, craftsmen and administrative support staff, with responsibility for the design, traffic engineering, structural integrity, condition of facilities, and contract administration and inspection of construction work at all Port Authority facilities.

Monti's extensive experience with large infrastructure projects includes work on major construction efforts at Kennedy and Newark International Airports and the third tube of the Lincoln Tunnel. He was the Port Authority's construction manager for the World Trade Center project, organizing a team that was responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of some 200 prime contractors and 500 subcontractors and suppliers working on the site.
