Michael McCarthy - Who's News - Brief Article

JWP, Inc. (NYS:JWP), the world's leading technical services company, announced that Michael McCarthy, 42, currently first vice president of JWP Forest Electric Corp. has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of JWP Forest Electric Corp. McCarthy succeeds Martin Hirsch, 55, who retires as co-president of JWP Forest Electric Corp. effective April 6.
McCarthy has over 25 years of experience in the electrical contracting business. Starting as an apprentice in 1968, he worked as a journeyman, foreman, general foreman, estimator and project manager. He joined JWP Forest Electric Corp. in 1982 as a project manager and was quickly promoted to assistant vice president. He was pivotal in the development of the project management department of JWP Forest Electric.
After his promotion to vice president of Project Management Operations, McCarthy was appointed vice president of Forest Datacom Services, which developed into the region's largest installation contractor for voice, data, and fiber optic systems. In 1991, McCarthy was promoted to first vice president of JWP Forest Electric Corp., and became a member of the executive committee.
