Stone & Webster named for AT&T Bell project

Stone & Webster is providing engineering and design services to AT&T Bell Laboratories for the upgrade of the company's central chilled water plant at its Murray Hill, New Jersey, complex.

The project, organized into four areas of work, involves site work and upgrades on the cooling tower, the 14,000 ton central chilled water plant and the chilled water delivery systems. Site work will include yard work, site preparation and underground utility work associated with the project. In addition, new underground piping and electrical ductwork will be installed. Work on the cooling tower will encompass rebuilding of the site cooling tower system. The central chilled water plant will include new chilled water production facilities and a building that will house it.

Stone & Webster is responsible for new equipment for the complex, including chillers, pumps, piping, and controls. The chilled water delivery system consists of piping and new secondary pumping systems to be installed within the laboratory and office area of the complex.
