Hammerson teams up with NFL quarterback - Hammerson Management Corp. signs contract with Jim Kelly Enterprises to construct entertainment complex in Buffalo, New York

Real Estate Weekly, Sept 16, 1992

The Hammerson Group has just completed a deal with NFL quarterback Jim Kelly.

Jim Kelly Enterprises will construct an entertainment complex at Main Place Mall in Buffalo. The complex will consist of a sports theme restaurant and bar, night club with live entertainment, a television studio with broadcast capabilities, and a private membership club. Additionally, Jim Kelly Enterprises, which handles Kelly's marketing and investments, will relocate its corporate offices this October to the facility. The 1 million-square-foot mixed-used office and retail complex is owned by The Hammerson Group, a major British real estate corporation. Located in the heart of downtown Buffalo, Main Place Mall is one of the largest development structures in the city.

The Hammerson Group, developer of 420 Fifth Avenue in New York, has closed out 60 percent of that property within the framework of three deals, after converting the building into a commercial condominium. The purchase of nine floors by the Girl Scouts of the United States of America served as the catalyst for the condominium conversion.

The Hammerson Group's senior advisor, Eddy Cogan, who spearheaded the commercial condominium conversion at 420 Fifth Avenue and has since been responsible for the property, is also overseeing the Hammerson project in Buffalo.
