Office showcase at IDCNY
Real Estate Weekly, Sept 22, 1993
The new "Virtual Office" of Chiat/Day inc. Advertising will be unveiled Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1993 at the International Design Center, New York, (IDCNY) as the keynote presentation for IDCNY's program "Home Sweet Office," part of the fall market event "Integrated Officing '93."
"The foundation for the 'Virtual Agency' is an architectural environment that focuses on our product: ideas and creative/strategic thinking," said Jay Chiat, chairman of Chiat/Day. "All of our resource base - library, document support systems and advanced computer and telecommunications systems - will be accessible to employees whether they are in the office, at home or on the road. This new environment increases flexibility and empowers our people to make professional decisions while focusing on client needs."
The keynote presentation will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Center Two Atrium, during Integrated Officing '93, a cutting-edge program that looks at how the corporate, mobile and home workplaces are linked today. It is planned for corporate facilities, MIS and human resources managers, architects and interior designers, as well as for small business entrepreneurs. The two-part event takes place October 27-28, and comprises IDCNY's "Home Sweet Office," an expo geared to small business owners and people working at home, and The Greater New York IFMA Exposition, sponsored by The Greater New York Chapter of the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), an office furnishings, building materials and professional services expo planned for facilities, MIS and human resources managers and designers/specifiers. Both programs will feature keynote speakers and educational sessions, as well as showroom and booth exhibits where consumers and professionals can see the latest office furnishings and technology, plus get information on starting and growing a successful building. The cost of attending the two-day event is free for pre-registrants, $25 at the door or complimentary tickets will be available through IDCNY tenants. A single ticket grants admission to showrooms, expos, special exhibits and programs. There will be an additional charge for IFMA's half-day tutorials and the IFMA luncheon. A cash bar at the evening party on Wednesday, Oct. 27, will benefit DIFFA and the National Breast Cancer Coalition.
