BuyYarn.com - business-to-business web site - division of Buy Alltex Corp - Abstract - Product Announcement
Bobbin, Oct, 2000
BuyYarn.com, a new Charlotte, NC-based e-commerce company, has entered the business-to-business (B2B) textile arena with an e-commerce site dedicated to trading first-quality yarns produced in the United States. The company, which was founded by textile executives with a broad range of experience, is a division of Buy Alltex Corp.
Commenting on the new B2B venture, Ford Markie, vice president of operations, said: "We bring yarn buyers and sellers together via the Internet. Buy Yarn.com accomplishes this with a simple, fast and cost-effective platform."
The system was designed so knitters could quickly post an offer to buy on the market, thereby eliminating the time-consuming job of yarn sourcing. Initially, BuyYarn.com, which went live in August, will trade open-end yarns of 100 percent cotton, 50 percent polyester/50 percent cotton and most heather blends. The company has also announced plans to expand its offerings to include ring-spun and other yarns.
BuyYarn.com is currently registering knitters to view the site rules and practice posting offers. There is no charge for buyers to register and list transactions.
