Nursing Homes, Oct, 2001

Permobil's Trax [TM] all-terrain power wheelchair has rearwheel drive, adjustable automotive-style coil-over rear shocks, large wheels and tires with a rugged tread to maximize traction. The adjustable wheelbase (manual or electric) can be extended for more stability and helps make downhill travel safer.

Overbuilt with motors strong enough to maintain a steady speed both up and downhill, the adult version of the Trax has a maximum speed of 9 mph, while the youth version is restricted to 5.5 mph.

Offering power steering with a joystick, the Trax has electronics that can be programmed to meet the user's requirements and is available in three seating choices.

In addition to a choice of leatherette or fabric seat covers, Permobil offers optional accessories including rear-view mirror, luggage box or basket, roll bar, crutch holder, adjustable neck rest, short or long thigh rest, four pointbelt, belt with quick-release lock, self-adjusting belt, running-time meter and battery charger.
