Kinetic Concepts, Inc.(KCI),has introduced the V.A.C.[R] (Vacuum Assisted Closure[R] Therapy GranuFoam[TM] Heel Dressing, which uses KCI's V,A.C,[R] Therapy to provide clinical and cost-effective treatment by using negative-pressure wound therapy to treat chronic and traumatic wounds.

The V.A.C. Therapy GranuFoam Heel Dressing is used in conjunction with the V.A.C.[[R].sup.ATS] Therapy System and the V.A.C.[[R].sup.FREEDOM][TM]Therapy System. Specifically designed for heel wounds, the new system uses contour foam and dressings that fit the shape of the typical foot. T.R.A.C.[TM] (Therapeutic Regulated Accurate Care[TM]) technology monitors and maintains target pressure at the wound site.

V.A.C. Therapy GranuFoam Heel Dressings are easy to apply. Reticulated cells (open pores) evenly distribute negative-pressure therapy across, the wound bed. Hydrophobic (non-absorbent) dressing material enhances exudate removal to promote wound healing.
