Overhead lift system - Product Spotlight - from Liko Inc - Brief Article

Nursing Homes, Jan, 2003

Liko, Inc., offers the Likorall 240, a resident-transport structure consisting of a sling suspended from custom-configured overhead tracks. Caregivers can use the lift to guide residents from beds to chairs, to the bathroom, from room to room, or to other locations. In addition to making it easier and safer to handle residents, Liko overhead lifts free valuable floor space.

Likorall 240 systems are configured from standard components according to customer specifications. Tracks can be mounted on the ceilings or walls and can support transfers from any part of the room to any other part, as well as from room to room. A free-standing configuration is also available, which is typically used to facilitate transfer from beds to wheelchairs or walkers and can be relocated as needed.

Each lift is equipped with advanced safety features, including a catch on the sling bar to prevent accidental release, a safety drum with speed control for a smooth lift span, a mechanical emergency lowering function, and an emergency stop button. Rechargeable batteries supply power for approximately 50 lift sessions.

In addition to the Likorall overhead lift systems, Liko offers the Sabina "sit to stand" lift, the Golvo multipurpose lift, and the Uno basic lift system. Systems are compatible with the more than 200 different slings in the Liko line.
