Commode assistance device - Product Spotlight - from Uplift Technologies - Brief Article

Nursing Homes, Feb, 2003

Uplift Commode Assist from Uplift Technologies, Inc., is a self-powered, lifting commode chair that helps residents gently seat and raise themselves without assistance, providing privacy when it's needed most. It can be used in stand-alone fashion or over a toilet.

Commode Assist provides safe, controlled support and lifts up to 80% of a resident's weight, from 80 to 220 lbs. A hydropneumatic lifting mechanism slowly and automatically activates when a resident releases the safety latch and shifts forward to stand.

In addition to helping those in a general weakened condition, this product is useful for residents with arthritis, Parkinson's disease, muscular dystrophy, neuromuscular disease, degenerative joint disease, and those contending with postoperative or knee and hip conditions.
