Smith & Nephew has added Gladase[TM] Papain-Urea Debriding Ointment to its line of wound-bed preparation products. Using papain, a proteolytic enzyme derived from papayas, and urea, Gladase is indicated for the removal of necrotic tissue in wounds and is an important step in wound bed preparation, providing debridement for burns and chronic wounds.
