Modern air purification - Product Spotlight - advertisement

Nursing Homes, May, 2002

Microgenix has redesigned its free-standing air purification model to safeguard air quality in any room or building type. This unit can be set up quickly with flexible ducting, drawing air into the unit from outside the room, before expelling safe, treated air, which creates positive pressure within the treated environment.

The new Microgenix system consists of a cartridge, which can be simply slotted into any new or existing ductwork or ventilation system. The inside of the cartridge is coated with a liquid that forms a microscopic spiked structure as it dries. When harmful microorganisms--such as airborne germs or bacteria--come into contact with the treated surface, their cell membranes are pierced and they die. A UV-light chamber ensures that any remaining bacteria or viruses are completely neutralized by altering their DNA structure before the air continues on its normal route.
