Oral-motor stimulator - Product Spotlight - Advertisement

Nursing Homes, May, 2002

AliMed, Inc., has introduced an oral-motor stimulator, the Ice Finger. Developed for speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, the Ice Finger can be 4 frozen and refrozen or dipped into sweet or sour sub-stances to stimulate oral-motor sensation and improve oral-pharyngeal strength. The small black handle is easy to manipulate, making it possible to evoke mouth opening, insert for sucking or to help residents overcome hypersensitive gag reflexes. The Ice Finger is a less intimidating alternative for those who resist intraoral stimulation or have difficulty following even one-step commands.
