Germicidal lamp - Product Focus: Infection Control

Nursing Homes, May, 2003

National Biological Corporation's Derma-Wand[TM] is a portable, handheld device that uses UVC light to create a bacteria-free environment for the treatment of skin lesions.

Two lamps contained in the lightweight Derma-Wand unit rid the affected open area of bacteria and their pathogens. This approach speeds the treatment of skin lesions and requires no gels, electrodes, or direct contact with the skin. The clinician controls treatment time, distance from the skin, angle of the wand, and number of treatments required. The unit produces maximum UVC output without heat.

The Derma-Wand system consists of the UVC wand and a control case, which has an electronic digital timer. It is shipped with UV-blocking goggles and an operating manual.
