> Care Technologies announces the release of SmartCare[R] 2K1 operating software for its CommunityCare[R] wireless emergency-response and monitoring system. This upgrade has a variety of new features, such as: completely redesigned user interface graphics with color-coded tabs that make it easy to find specific functions; e.g., adding a resident or alert device; wizards that act as tour guides so staff can reduce response time to resident emergency alerts; a Quick Tips feature that minimizes staff training time and enhances productivity; autotracking of low batteries; and the Alert Escalation feature--an end user can establish an escalation process so that if the initial resident alert is not responded to within a number of specified minutes, the alert escalates to other pagers either internally or externally.
